Individually, the farms all have over 50 years in coffee growing history, and sell to the local market. Access to the global market is typically the largest hurdle for coffee producers to be able to earn a sustainable and fair price for their coffee. These producers live and grow in the Madriz department, which neighbors the more well-known Nueva Segovia department, in north central Nicaragua. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis particular coffee is from a single farm, Santa Melinda, which is owned and operated by husband and wife Heradio Moreno and Laura Dávila. Heradio inherited the farm from his mother, and is the fourth generation owner\/operator of Santa Mélinda.
